Cadillac Recall Lawsuits

In addition to all of the troubles that General Motors has regarding the ignition switch defect, GM has recalled the 2013 Cadillac SRX due to the acceleration issue. The Cadillac SRX is a crossover vehicle. The defect reported has to do with delays in the acceleration. The defect relates to a faulty ignition because of a computer glitch that controls the transmission. The National Highway Safety Administration (NHSA) said in a recent statement that, “there may be a three to four second lag in acceleration due to the transmission.”

General Motors said that it is recalling more than 50,000 2013 Cadillac SRX cars. Even though the Cadillac SRX has this acceleration defect, there have been no reports of crashes, collisions or other incidences related to the acceleration delay or faulty ignition.

Further, General Motors states that the problem with the Cadillac SRX occurs when the automatic transmission shifts from the 1st to 2nd gear and when the vehicle brakes. The defect increases the risk of a collision or crash. With the addition of this recall, the 2013 Cadillac SRX, General Motors has recalled vehicles that number in the millions.
